Not usually. I support adults from the background, placing the healing and power in the hands of parents, professional caregivers and teachers who love the children and have the most invested in their health, thriving, and success. I help parents maintain authority with their children. The child’s sense of parent as authority can dissipate if they see their parents being guided. We also work best when we have our clients’ full attention, and they have ours – which is best done with your children in someone else’s care. Occasionally, when it seems helpful, I offer additional observations of the parent-child interaction in their home environment via Zoom.
